Established the Board Accreditation for headache specialists

Organized the 12th International Headache Congress in Kyoto

Registered the society as a corporation officially


<Missions>

This society aims to improve scientific and clinical research in the field of headache
and its related diseases, and promote the nation’s health care through the following projects.

・Holding  academic meetings

・Publishing JHS journal and books

・Accrediting headache specialist

・Cooperating with associated groups in Japan and abroad



<Membership>

Regular members:

Any medical doctors and dentists, whose objectives are in accordance with the purposes of the society, can join the JHS.

Non-physician members:

A recommendation letter from a JHS board member is needed to join the JHS.

Supporting members:

Individuals or corporations, who are willing to assist the activities of the JHS, can join the JHS with permission
from the board meeting.
There are 1,948 members in total as of Aug. 16, 2010.



<Board  Accredited Headache Specialist>

Board accredited headache specialists of the JHS must:

1.

be a member of the JHS for a minimum of 3 years.

2.

be a member of one of the headache related societies stated in the JHS regulations.

3.

have a minimum of 5 years of training at a certified institution.

4.

have publication and presentation in headache field.

5.

pass the board examination for accreditation.

There are 734 accredited members as of Sep. 1, 2010.
